Fun Single Page - Heat Embossing and Custom Background
Cariena has been invited back to teach again for the Couture Creations Live Inspiration Event in Australia. They asked her to make some sample projects using her favourite techniques.
Cariena loves Heat Embossing. It was the very first technique she was shown at her first day of Scrapbooking and she believes that if she has an inkpad, a heat tool and some embossing powder, she pretty much has everything she needs to create! (Well, we are sure she would need a couple of additional items too, but let's leave it at that!)
She created the background by applying some dye/pigment ink/mist (any of your choice) to a plastic sheet and misting it with water. She then "squished" it onto a white piece of Lady Pattern Paper Technique Cardstock. This cardstock is great for all kinds of techniques. She left it to dry thoroughly.
While waiting for the cardstock to dry, she die cut several elements from leftover paper. Dressing up your die cuts is an awesome way to add unique elements to your projects - no one else will have exactly the same element and you can use it over and over! She used various Heat Embossing Techniques to dress them all up - from the circle her Rosette is resting on, to the proteas, to the flourish and even the edges of her patterned paper! Her title was Embossed using the gorgeous Tsukineko GOLD Embossing Powder - a firm favourite!
To achieve the two tones and the textures embossed look - make sure you attend one of Cariena's Specialty Classes that will start on 23 November and continue through 2020. You can simply send a Whats App to 067 224 6825 and ask to be added to our Broadcast Group for the details. If you cannot attend the live classes, you can request kits with Video/Written Instructions to be made up of the classes.
She finished the layout off by adding some Gold Ink Splats (you can use any ink) and journaling. Journaling is very important to her - it should be to all Memory Keepers! Remember, we are telling the stories of our lives!
We hope you will be inspired to use Inks and Heat Embossing on your projects!
